Abstract
DIAZ ABRAHAN, Verónika; ZAMBONINI, Juan Pedro and TOSTO, Virginia. The formalization of professional practices in Music Therapy. An approach to the study of the construction of disciplinary knowledge in Latin America. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2022, vol.32, n.2, pp.83-96. Epub Oct 09, 2022. The formalization of professional practices carried through the writing of academic texts, particularly of journal articles, is a privileged instance for the construction of disciplinary knowledge. In Latin America, publications are scarce, and the features of professional practice, that are necessarily configured by their contexts, are left invisible. The current study aims to identify what is communicated by Latin American music therapists about their professional practice and how they carry out such practice. A semi-structured survey was designed and distributed in countries across Latin America. The results reflect that Latin American music therapists formalize their practice by publishing in formats that are methodologically more flexible than the journal article with the objective of validating and making their knowledge visible, as well as to establish dialogues with other professionals.
