Abstract

This paper collects the process of analysis and shared reflection on how the practicum period contributes to the academic training and professional identity of the primary degree’ students of the University of Malaga (Spain). A total of 150 students have been investigated in Malaga, with the aim of recovering the student experiences in the subject of the Practicum, as well as their evaluations. Interviews and reflection groups have been carried out and the evaluations that the students have shown in their final portfolios. We highlight how their voices show us the gap between learning in the university classroom and the experience in the school field. In addition, they make various comments regarding expectations and experience in schools. This study has revealed knowledge that contributes to rethinking, reconstructing and deconstructing the identity of the teacher in training, as well as highlight some keys to bet on a necessary link between university and schools.
