Abstract

BORTOLI, Pamela Virginia. Teaching mediated by the State and the market: the school textbook as an object in Argentina (1984-2011). Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.1, pp.121-132.  Epub Mar 09, 2022. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb33-346.

School textbooks play a fundamental role in the teaching of the contents of a discipline: what is and what is not included in them brings students closer to one possible vision of the world among others, so their configuration should not be irrelevant for the educational field.

This article starts from the hypothesis that school textbooks are built in a relationship between the State and the Argentine school publishing market and analyzes three cases, in the time frame that goes from 1984 to 2011: manuals for the teaching of the language and the literature by the publishers Santillana, Kapelusz and del Eclipse. In this direction, the abrupt and significant changes that took place in the links between the State and school publishers are being restored.

Keywords : textbooks; publishing market; publishers Santillana; publishers Kapelusz; publishers del Eclipse.
