Abstract

LOPEZ MOLINA, Ana. Género, sexualidad y educación en Guatemala: disputas, discursos e imágenes. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.2, pp.15-15. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb33-378.

The article proposes Guatemala as a witness case of the current disputes over the meaning of sexuality and gender, as well as the scope and possibilities for the development of public policies of education with a gender approach. Based on research findings, gender discourses are analyzed, starting from the still images and mobile imaginaries that sustain them in the normative framework and in sex education. This description helps to interpret the discourses that circulate in the schools studied and configure their gender regime (power relations, division of labor, expression of emotions, symbolization) searching for constants and transformations of images and imaginaries about motherhood, reproduction, and family.

Keywords : sexual education; gender regime; sexuality; Guatemala.
