Abstract

LINNE, Joaquín. Tecnologías en escuelas medias de Ciudad de Buenos Aires y Ciudad de México. Un enfoque comparado durante la pandemia. Espac. blanco, Ser. indagaciones [online]. 2023, vol.33, n.2, pp.167-167. ISSN 1515-9485.  http://dx.doi.org/https://doi.org/10.37177/unicen/eb33-369.

This article analyzes teaching in middle schools in the City of Buenos Aires and Mexico City during a pandemic. Beyond some differences, such as the greater creation of television content in Mexico and the greater support of student centers and delivery of netbooks in Argentina, we focus on the similarities: it was difficult to reproduce the school device, given that digital disembodiment caused dispersion and lower institutional affiliation. This resulted in learning problems and desertion, particularly in students with fewer resources. Health problems, particularly stress, increased. Likewise, the main technological deficit was the lack of Wi-Fi. As beneficial effects, the use of technologies was more enabled and the development of digital formats brought the school closer to the student body; Greater autonomy was acquired to solve tasks, transportation costs decreased and the technological process that part of the educational community was demanding was accelerated.

Keywords : middle schools; youth; pandemic; Argentina; Mexico.
