Abstract

CONTI, Romina. La desalineación estética en Schiller y Marcuse: Un retorno sobre el problema de la racionalidad mutilada. Tópicos [online]. 2011, n.21. ISSN 1666-485X.

This paper analyzes the connection between the concepts of alienation and cosification, emphasizing their links with the problem of rationality. The hypothesis that guides the reflection holds that those aspects of rationality that are identified as suppressed by the processes of alienation and cosification, remain latent in the aesthetics experience. From this starting point, the development of the reflection focuses on three basic subjects: the analysis of the main components of both alienation and cosification theories, the connection with the problem of rationality in terms of the first generation of the Frankfurt School, and the possibilities and limits of man's aesthetic dimension as integral part of an extended rationality that -from Marcuse's theory- revisits some main concepts of Schiller's thought.

Keywords : Alienation; Cosification; Racionality; Aesthetic dimension.
