Abstract

LORENZO, Luis María. Vida, historia y psicología en Wilhelm Dilthey. Tópicos [online]. 2011, n.21. ISSN 1666-485X.

Heidegger finds in Dilthey the first philosopher who interprets life as a phenomenon. This paper explores Dilthey's philosophy of life trying to evaluate the importance that history, psychology and the social world have in it. The individual is the main focus of Dilthey's analysis but not as an isolated being but as a "crossover point". Men become historical beings as the result of their contact with the social and cultural world. Psychology, studying man, and history, studying the social-cultural world, conform together the vast field of the human sciences o Geisteswissenschaften. Human life is the sphere that articulates both poles of the analysis, assuming that life was forgotten by philosophy and "philosophy of life" (Lebensphilosophie) tries to give account of it.

Keywords : Life; Psychology; History; Individual; Society.
