Abstract

LOPEZ, Cristina. De la vida, la muerte y la resistencia en las investigaciones de Michel Foucault sobre biopolítica. Tópicos [online]. 2012, n.23, pp.00-00. ISSN 1666-485X.

Despite the progress made in understanding the scope and limitations of Michel Foucault's researches about the biopolitical exercise of power, there are still some doubts about the nexus of those researches with the genealogy of liberalism that they seem to culminate. In this context, Foucault's treatment of the issues of life, death, and resistance becomes problematic. Trying to clarify these questions, our paper will attempt to account for the motives that guide the analysis of the author towards the problem of liberal governmentality and the bias that gets in this frame his consideration of biopolitics as a power characterized by "doing live and letting die".

Keywords : Bopolitics; Life; Death; Resistance; Liberalism.
