Abstract

Suelos de baja capacidad productiva en Santa Fe: mejora con residuos líquidos de la industria alimentaria. FAVE. Secc. Cienc. agrar. [online]. 2017, vol.16, n.1, pp.99-113. ISSN 1666-7719.

The application of Organic Liquid Waste (OWL) of the dairy industry was assessed as an ameliorative of soils with low productive capacity of the Santa Fe province (Argentina). In a Tipyc Natracualf without crops, were applied 6,600 kg organic matter/ha/year of OLW during 2010 to 2014 period and compared to a control test without OWL. The results indicate the contribution of organic matter, phosphorus (P), calcium (Ca) and sulfates (S) to soil. The N and P were leached because there was no mineral extraction by crops. The addition of Ca originated the reduction of sodium content in the soil profile, as well as K and Mg. The OWL caused the degradation of hydraulic conductivity, least limiting water range, clay dispersed in water and soil density. A monitoring of soil properties, minimum soil crop rotation and appropriate addition of Mg are important for agronomic use of OWL.
