Abstract
BECHER QUINODOZ, Fátima Noelia and BLARASIN, Mónica. Evaluación de relaciones acuífero libre - lagunas mediante modelación hidrogeoquímica e isotópica en la planicie medanosa del sur de Córdoba - Argentina. Ser. correl. geol. [online]. 2015, vol.31, n.2. ISSN 1666-9479.
The area is characterized by parabolic dunes with temporary and permanent lagoons of different dimensions. They present a complex geochemical spatial pattern. The objective is to characterize the dynamics and geochemistry (general and isotopic) of the unconfined aquifer - surface water relationships in the sandy plain of the South of Cordoba. Furthermore, to explain possible water mixtures and geochemical evolution, the simulation was performed using inverse numerical modeling to validate the conceptual model. The conceptual and numerical models explain that salt and brackish lagoons are the result of a mixture of local fresh groundwater and regional salty groundwater (from western areas). The obtained values indicate that the composition of the salt and brackish water of the studied lagoons is achieved by mixing the initial solutions at a proportion of approximately 41/59 (fresh/salty) and 88/12 (fresh/salty) respectively. The dominant processes are dissolution of salts, cation exchange Ca/Na and high evaporation processes in the lagoons.
