Abstract

SEGURA, María Soledad. Desintermediación y participación: Los nuevos roles de periodistas y públicos en los medios no lucrativos. Trama comun. [online]. 2014, vol.18, n.1, pp.115-133. ISSN 1668-5628.

In Argentina, from the 2001-2002 crisis, the media and civil society organizations that promoted the democratization of communications increased. These practices challenged and reconfigured the roles of the actors of communication -the producer or professional journalist and the public- and spurred disintermediation and horizontality of the communication process. They appealed to the value of participation which constituted one of the fundamental principles of democratic communication, as the Latin American tradition of communication policies. We approach this subject from an interdisciplinary theory and methodology to analyze the practices from a socio-historical approach.

Keywords : Journalists; Public; Participation; Disintermediation; Democratization.
