Abstract
ZENKLUSEN, Denise and PERISSINOTTI, María Victoria. Asambleas, chismes y rumores: Comunicación y política en un barrio de migrantes de la ciudad de Córdoba. Trama comun. [online]. 2016, vol.20, n.2, pp.55-71. ISSN 1668-5628.
The main interest of this article is to understand and analyze the ways in which interpersonal communication practices are related to how politic is done in neighborhood contexts. Based in the ethnographic findings to which we arrived after a long field work, we seek to contribute to the theoretical discussion on the relationship between communication and politics, exploring into the many ways they are linked in different spaces anchored in everyday actor's social life. Thus, taking the central contributions of the theoretical perspectives of communication/culture and anthropology of politics, we seek to problematize the political participation in the assembly space, showing how other communication practices like gossip and rumors -first thought as irrelevant- are in fact essential to understand the ways in which subjects actually "do politics". Methodologically, the empirical evidence supporting this work resulted from an investigation conducted by the authors during 2011 and 2012 in a Cordoba's settlement built by migrants living there.
