Abstract

GARCIA OCHOA, Santiago. Iconología y análisis fílmico: Una relación controvertida. Trama comun. [online]. 2017, vol.21, n.1, pp.65-83. ISSN 1668-5628.

The study of film induces to find comprehensive approaches derived from the integration of multiple disciplines. Panofsky’s interdisciplinary method contains the germ of the two main trends of film analysis traditionally confronted: film semiotics and sociology of the cinema. However, the relation between iconology and film studies has been almost always unsuccessful, as teach the examples given. In short, iconology occupies a “no place” in the “cartography of actual filmic hermeneutics”.

Keywords : Iconology; Film analysis; Interdisciplinary approach; Panofsky.
