The following research explores, from a qualitative perspective, the role of a radio communication as a therapeutic complement of users of mental health. Considering the communication an inherent activity to the human being and, consequently, its exercises at the disposal of the communities, it is admitted the existence of multiple journalistic experiences that allow the development of initiatives like the one exposed in this text. The work is in Valparaíso, where, in dependencies of the Hospital Del Salvador, 13 years ago Radio Diferencia transmits, a non-profit community group promoted from its beginnings by people with psychopathological diagnosis. The contribution of radio to the therapeutic process of its members is understood from the assessment of the members of the organization, as a space for the development of social, communicative and expressive skills, together with the linking of users with their context and a multidimensional support for recovery and social insertion.
