Abstract

GALLARDO, Milagros. Social origins, individual paths and relationships of the Córdoba secular clergy (1877-1927). Andes [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

In this paper, an approach to the secular clergy of the diocese of Córdoba is presented. We analyze its social origins, composition and organization, its changes and rearrangements during a period when the Province experienced profound political, social and economic transformations. The secular clergy is considered as a social microcosm, a place where individuals from very different social worlds meet together. Individuals, who unite by the common denominator of their function: "ministers of the sacred", are structured and placed themselves into it. This work tries to see how social differences within the group were established. How the 'difference' between natives and foreigners was thought, beyond nationality, whether, "separation" among equals or, in terms of an internal structure - of authority, integration, domination and dependence- in the style of a society that kept patterns from the old regime. The "difference" will naturally result in definite actions.
