Abstract

SACCHI, Mariana et al. Dating and human movements: Fluctuations influence of the Posadas-Pueyrredón lacustrine system during the holocene. Andes [online]. 2016, vol.27, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

This paper focuses on the settlement process of Posadas-Salitroso Pueyrredón basin (NW of Santa Cruz Province) based on the information obtained in recent years and the new dating received. Archaeological occupations of the northeastern shore of Pueyrredón Lake are related with the paleogeography of the basin. The relevance of the dating presented is also discussed in a wider regional spatial scale. Finally, the work considers the relationship between lake levels variations and human movements taking into account materials recovered from sites at levels greater than 300 meters, having Middle and Late Holocene dating. The results obtained confirm the expectations outlined by the paleogeographic model. However, the changes observed on the landscape throughout the Holocene do not seem to have affected human movement dynamics.

Keywords : Chronology; Lake levels; Human movement; Patagonia.
