Abstract

BARQUIN CENDEJAS, Alfonso. El Tetazo: The political arbitrariness of classifications. Andes [online]. 2019, vol.30, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.

The present article highlights the usefulness of the anthropological studies about the classificatory systems to understand some core aspects of the demonstrations known as El Tetazo, that have taken place in some Argentine cities. It addresses the intrinsic logic of the classificatory systems and, at the same time, its resignification in political activity. In these events, it is clearly seen that one of the central axes of the demonstrations consists in questioning the distinction between the naked torsos of men and women, and the normative order that it implies. It reflects on the possibilities of research through Internet and its limits.

Keywords : Classifications; Naturalization; Politics; Tetazo; Citizenship; Antagonism.
