Abstract
SABATINI, Gabriela Inés; GARATE, Enrique and CAROSIO, Sebastián Andrés. Social dynamics of early communities in the Aminga Valley (La Rioja, Argentina). Andes [online]. 2021, vol.32, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1668-8090.
The eastern sector of the Sierra de Velasco was an area in which various human groups settled and generate residential and productive architectural units that lasted throughout the first millennium AD and, at least, a large amount of the second. Until now, the main archaeological tasks in the area that have been carried out around the foothills and the quebradas show a great village activity during that period. In this paper we present an approach to the occupations of the lower zones, specifically in the sector of La Punta (Aminga Valley, Castro Barros). We study the social dynamics of the communities that inhabited the region around 500 AD from a multiscale perspective that ranges from the micro-regional to the spatial analysis. The articulation of the results from excavation surveys and interventions allows us to propose the emergence of residential architectural structures concentrated around the natural resources available, and a pattern of settlement of a domestic/family nature.
