Abstract

ORTIZ, Gabriela. Use of chemical análisis for interpreting the areas of activities in the sub-andean Jujuy, region. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2003, n.20, pp.291-321. ISSN 1668-8104.

It is to analyze the results coming from soil samples taken in an early site in the archaeological subárea of the river San Francisco in Argentine West Forrests' zone (Selvas Occidentales Argentinas). These researchs include different types of chemical analysis, and their values are in comparison with other indicators as: density and spatial distribution of archaeological rests and structures, size of artifacts and the presence of wild vegetation. It is proposed that comparative analysis of all the indicators will provide new skills to interpret the intra site areas of activities, in places where the archaeological evidence is usually reduced to the in-surface dispersion of remains as results of anthropic modern removal.

Keywords : Análisis químicos; areas de actividad intrasitio.
