DAINO DE MATTEODA, Mirta  and  ROJAS, María Cristina. Curriculum, regional culture and identity. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2004, n.22, pp.65-78. ISSN 1668-8104.

In this paper we show the work that has been carried on in the Project "Education and Regional Culture: a possible relationship" which is inserted in the "Purmamarca Interdisciplinary Programme: Identity, Education and Culture", together with the Projects "Popular knowledge: Memory and Identity" and "Pre and posthispanic Cultural Processes in the Quebrada de Purmamarca". The main goal of our research is centered in the links established between the school and the culture of the region through the curriculum. In order to do this we gathered information on our own and from the above mentioned projects. While using the data given by the former we collected information related to the social discourses held by the community and that evidences the culture of the place, the latter gives us information on the reconstruction of the region's cultural history as a consequence of the adaptation and change processes that were developed there, so as to have an appropriate semiotic reading of the present.

Keywords : Curriculum; Region; Identity.
