Abstract
KINDGARD, Adriana. Regional history, rationality and culture: about the inclusion of cultural variable in regions definition. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2004, n.24, pp.165-176. ISSN 1668-8104.
In recent years the reflection about the principles underlying the regional historiography have been quite frequent. Here we postulate the intention to integrate the cultural dimension of social processes in regional analysis. From our point of view, the concept of "region" could let demarcate the horizon scored by the multiples relationships which define social experience. Then, region would mark the top limit of an historical and cultural context to insert social practice into a frame capable of give integration keys in terms of the duality between action and structure. Micro-history is explicitly installed in the historiographical debate because of the present slipping of the interest to the conceptual and methodological matters of the discipline. The sense of social action is captured by putting it into context, "pointing" at the historical frame and the cultural system where rationality implied in action become intelligible. Following this theoretic and methodological proposal, here we postulate that the frame of this intensive historical and cultural contextualization could be defined in a regional key.
