The overall aspects and the progresses made to the date in a Research Project carried out by Professors of the Economics department at the National University of Jujuy are presented in this paper. The proposal arises from the interest in the research of the teaching methodologies privileged within the different departments that make up this area, given the need to generate systematized information, interpretation modes and inputs for a proper critical intervention on the practice itself. To this end the following specific goals are posed: to gather information on the most used teaching methodologies in the classrooms within the above mentioned context, to analyze and understand the educational supports of these methodologies and to develop scientific productions derived from the educational reflection. In the light of the theoretical framework adopted, analysing the primary data provided by professors and students through specifically developed instruments is suggested and as secondary sources, studying the planning of the departments is advised. A mixed quantitative- qualitative methodology approach will be applied to process the information.             From the interpretation of the results obtained, it is expected to give account for the epistemological and teaching structure of the discipline that is taught, thus favouring the methodological constructs used to enhance students' learning
