Abstract

CARPINETTI, Juliana. Migration theories, epistemological paradigms in social sciences and social conditions of production. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2017, n.52, pp.59-79. ISSN 1668-8104.

This work aims to situate historically the production of scientific knowledge of migratory phenomena. In order to achieve this, the paper reflects on the linkage between the emergence and expansion of certain theoretical approaches with: a) the main criteria of production of scientific knowledge in general and the social sciences in particular prevailing in different historical moments in which they were developed; and b) the state of the social conditions of production and the tensions of them emerging in those historical contexts. Linking those variables, it is possible to recognize three different moments in the production of scientific knowledge on migration, each one with its resulting political effects

Keywords : Epistemological paradigms; Migration Theories; Social Conditions of Production.
