Abstract

CHENA, Pablo Ignacio. The popular economy and its key relationships. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2018, n.53, pp.205-228. ISSN 1668-8104.

This article finds the foundation in the economic organization that took the movement of unemployed in Argentina (Piquetero Movement) from the economic crisis of 2001/2002, experience known as Popular Economy (EP) that today brings together many of its actors in the Confederation of Workers of the Popular Economy (CTEP). In this context, the article makes explicit, on the one hand, the conceptual differences that exist between the EP and its analytical resemblance as Social and Solidarity Economy, Informal Economy or Marginal Mass and, on the other hand, it investigates the relations that characterize it to indicate, as a distinctive feature, its commercial and financial subordination to the traditional capitalist economy. To arrive at these results, a inductive methodology was carried out, based on many empirical experiences and a theoretical analysis of the processes of social valorization of work and its financial practices.

Keywords : Popular Economy; Argentina; Poverty.
