This work presents the application of a functional classification method for ceramic vessels that was developed by Karina Menacho. The case study corresponds to an analysis of ceramic assemblage from societies that developed in the Guayatayoc Miraflores Basin (Jujuy) between the 10th and 15th centuries. The methodology allows to systematically compare the ceramic components of the Final Formative and Regional Developments I and II periods. The scope and limitations of the method used are explained
