The article analyzes theoretical-methodological implications of Epistemologies of the South proposal, developed by Boaventura de Sousa Santos. Recovering the contributions of Lukács’ late work, the critical analysis focuses on particularities and relationships between science and everyday thought, concrete totality and essence/phenomenon tension, considering as well the distinction between subject and object in knowledge process and the pragmatic spirit of postmodern proposal
