Abstract

CONTRERAS TINOCO, Karla Alejandra  and  PALOMAR VEREA, Cristina. The production of knowledge about pregnancy: Approaches to a state of the art. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2021, n.60, pp.291-319. ISSN 1668-8104.

This paper presents a review of seventy studies on the subject of pregnancy that have been carried out in some western countries between 1997 and 2018, including Spain, Australia, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Peru and Mexico. The search was done in the databases of Scielo, Ebsco, Google Academico, Dialnet and Redalyc. The review of some undergraduate, master's and doctoral theses was also included. The findings are presented in seven thematic lines: 1) knowledge and traditions related to pregnancy; 2) access and quality of care in pregnancy; 3) experience, emotions and meanings of pregnancy; 4) Impact of the body transformations typical of pregnancy on the subjectivity of the pregnant woman; 5) influence of other social actors on pregnancy; 6) sociodemographic and sociocultural factors involved in pregnancy; 7) pregnancy, subjectivity and identity. The primacy of studies with the adolescent population stands out, as well as the increase, in the last 10 years, in the number of studies on pregnancy care (biomedical and humanized)

Keywords : Sociocultural beliefs; Body; Pregnancy; State of the art; Identity; Subjectivity.
