Abstract

MATTA, Juan Pablo  and  BAHL, Brenda Mirella. “Nosotros estamos cada vez más desunidos y la antena cada vez más alta”. Tramas locales, conflictos públicos actuales y la prehistoria de las disputas en una pequeña localidad del centro de la provincia de Buenos Aires. Cuad. Fac. Humanid. Cienc. Soc., Univ. Nac. Jujuy [online]. 2023, n.63, pp.75-100. ISSN 1668-8104.

In October 2021, a “quiet place in the middle of the Pampa Bonaerense” made headlines in the local press for what was initially described as “discomfort and concern about the installation of an antenna”. A group of neighbors had initiated a series of demands with the aim of stopping the installation of a 45-meter-high communications tower in the center of a Russian-German neighborhood known for its rural tourism. The resulting dispute was quickly characterized as the conflict over the Colonia Bonita antenna. In this article, based on ethnographic fieldwork circumscribed to the case, we reconstruct the process of this dispute and its integration in local politics, to understand it not as the result of the installation of a tower, but as a product of previous disputes.
