Abstract
RODRIGUEZ VAGARIA, A et al. Evaluación del efecto de la restauración agro-hidrológica mediante la aplicación del modelo hidrológico GeoQ. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2012, vol.38, n.2, pp.171-181. ISSN 1669-2314.
Agrohydrologic restoration involves, in a unified plan of action, the problematic concerning to soil, water and vegetation of the watersheds, guiding to an authentic process of management for natural resources. The effects of agrohydrologic restoration can be evaluated by mathematical modelization with the GeoQ tool, which allows estimating the hydrologic behavior associated to changes in the applied conservation measures. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of the agrohydrologic restoration in the hilly area of the watershed of the Pillahuinco Grande Creek, applying the hydrologic model GeoQ. This model generated a final map of geospatial distribution of runoff, based on the Curve Number method, using three vector files (limit of watershed, hydrologic groups of soils, and land use) and an attribute value file with the information of the storm to be modeled. GeoQ expressed for the present situation, low levels of runoff (lower than 10 mm) covering the 91.9 % of the watershed, and an intermediate level (between 10 and 20 mm) in the rest of the watershed. The simulated situation expressed that 99.9 % of the watershed generated low levels of runoff, with an increment of 8 % of surface compared with the present situation. This work allowed us to establish the potential effect of the proposed agrohydrologic restoration measures over superficial runoff, for the hilly watershed of the Pillahuinco Grande Creek, considering the present situation as the reference level.
