RUIZ, B.A; MARTINEZ, M and MEDINA, H.H. Reconocimiento de insectos potencialmente perjudiciales en Bactris gasipaes H.B.K. (Arecaceae) en el corregimiento El Tapón, municipio de Tadó-Chocó, Colombia. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2013, vol.39, n.2, pp.196-206. ISSN 1669-2314.
The present investigation had as objective the identification of potentially harmful insects in Bactris gasipaes H.B.K. (Peach) in the stage of production. This study was carried out between the months of january-february and august-september 2009 in two farms called F1 and F2 where were used 5 techniques for capturing insects on both farms in order to achieve the purpose. The result achieved was the identification of insects belonging to the family Curculionidae (Palmelampius heinrichi, Metamasius hemipterus y Rhynchophorus palmarum) excellence that are called insect pests of commercial interest for the cultivation of peach, and a species of the family Coreidae (Leptoglossus sp.) which, there is very little information in front of their actions in the cultive, but some authors have stated that the insect can cause up to 100 % of losses of fruit peasch. To date there is incipient documentation on specific mechanisms that facilitate their control and/or eradication in plantations of palms with socio-economic purposes.
