Abstract

BADO, S.G; BLUM, R  and  SANTOS, M.E. Fauna benéfica asociada a cultivos de cerezo (Prunus avium L.) en el Valle Inferior del Río Chubut (Región Patagonia Sur). RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2013, vol.39, n.3, pp.245-249. ISSN 1669-2314.

The knowledge of the natural enemies associated with a culture is one of the basic aspects to think of when applying strategies for biological control. The aim of this study is to obtain information about the complex of natural enemies present in two cherry orchards in southern Patagonia where no application of agrochemicals takes place. Surveys were carried out weekly in order to collect predators and parasitoids in the orchards. Determination of individuals was carried out by means of entomological determination keys. Furthermore, specialized taxonomists were consulted for determination of doubtful individuals. More than 170 individuals were determined from both sites, of which around 70% belonged to the families Braconidae, Ichneumonidae and Chalcididae, which are known for their great potential as agents for biocontrol.

Keywords : Natural enemies; Biodiversity; Hymenoptera; Conservative biological control.
