Abstract

MENDOZA, S.M.. Caracterización de residuos agroindustriales de algodón mediante espectrometría de emisión atómica de plasma por microondas. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2021, vol.47, n.1, pp.71-81.  Epub May 26, 2021. ISSN 1669-2314.

The agro-industrial activity generates large amounts of vegetable by-products, which are considered waste due to their low commercial value. The cotton ginning process generates lignocellulosic residues that are attractive for the production of alternative energies. Optimization of this application requires updated technical data.

Therefore, this work presents the results from the characterization of different fractions of cotton gin waste and seed cleaning, using the microwave-plasma atomic emission spectrometry technique. It shows the potential of the analytical technique to study this type of materials and reports on the presence of mineral constituents and contaminants such as K, Ca, P, Mg, Na, Al, Fe, Mn, Zn, Cr and Pb.

Keywords : cotton waste; Cotton ginning; elemental chemical analysis; MP-AES.
