Abstract

VALIENTE, Sebastian; KUNST, Carlos  and  FELDMAN, S.R.. Efectos de secuencias de disturbios sobre la acumulación de biomasa y su calidad forrajera en un pajonal de Spartina spartinae (Trin.) Merr. Ex Hitchc. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2021, vol.47, n.2, pp.170-175.  Epub Sep 29, 2021. ISSN 1669-2314.

Spartina spartinae is the dominant species of halo-hydromorphic plains with low floristic diversity in south-east of the Santiago del Estero province. The aim of this work was to analyze production and quality of S. spartinae rangelands after the application of four disturbance sequences: burning (F), mechanical cutting (C), herbicide application (H), and undisturbed (T), applied successively on September 2012, and March 2013. All disturbance sequences showed favorable results compared to T and generated higher levels of crude protein, biomass digestibility, increased available forage and reduced S. spartinae plant height, C-C showed higher productivity of available forage.
