Abstract

ALAYON LUACES, P. et al. Combinación de tratamientos con fungicidas y nitrato de calcio para el control de la mancha marrón (Alternaria alternata) y su efecto en la producción de tangor ‘Murcott’. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2022, vol.48, n.1, pp.10-15.  Epub Apr 06, 2022. ISSN 1669-2314.

Control of brown spot (Alternaria alternata) in citrus is done with the application of fungicides and products such as mancozeb, iprodione, chlorothalonil, and potassium or magnesium phosphite. The aim of this work was to evaluate the effect of calcium nitrate contributions to a sanitary program (combination of treatments with fungicides) on the control of brown spot, production, and foliar nutrition of tangor -Murcott-. The experiment was conducted in Corrientes, Argentina, during 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 production periods, on a 14-year-old tangor ‘Murcott’ grove. The contribution of calcium nitrate (0, 125 and 250 kg per ha-1) on plots treated or not with fungicides was evaluated in a randomized complete block factorial arrangement. Incidence, severity, production per plant and foliar content of nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and magnesium were determined. Application of 125 kg ha-1 of calcium nitrate and the sanitary program minimized disease damage. Application of calcium nitrate plus the sanitary program acted additively, significantly reducing the severity and incidence of the disease and increasing plant production. In the analysis of the nutrient contents, it was observed that the sanitary scheme and 125 kg ha-1 of calcium nitrate increased the percentages of N and Ca in leaves.

Keywords : Ca nitrate; brown spot; tangerine.
