Abstract
MURCIA, Vanina N.; BENEITEZ, A.; PORDOMINGO, A.J. and MIRANDA, A.. Estudio exploratorio sobre Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae en granjas porcinas del norte de la provincia de La Pampa, Argentina, utilizando PCR como metodología de diagnóstico. RIA. Rev. investig. agropecu. [online]. 2022, vol.48, n.1, pp.100-103. Epub Apr 06, 2022. ISSN 1669-2314.
Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae is the main causal agent of Swine Enzootic Pneumonia, a chronic respiratory disease that occurs worldwide and causes major economic losses to the pig industry. There is no information about the presence of the bacteria in La Pampa province. Therefore, the aim of this study was to carry out an exploratory field research, from nasal swab samples from 20 to 50 kg BW pigs. The PCR diagnostic technique was used to detect the presence of the etiological agent DNA. 218 samples were tested, all of them were negative. Although these outcomes contribute important information for the pig sector, is necessary to continue with further studies to quantify the health impact of this disease, in La Pampa province.
