Abstract

PLENC, Daniel. El todo y la nada: un espacio para la memoria. Enfoques [online]. 2011, vol.23, n.2, pp.105-109. ISSN 1669-2721.

The present essay justifies in a historical way the election of the site once known as “Barranca Blanca” as the place where Universidad Adventista del Plata will raise a commemorative monument. There, in the house of Reinhardt Hetze and his family, the first missionary activity was carried out by Jorge H. Riffel, first messenger of the Adventist faith in South America. This article makes it clear that it was in that place where the projects of the first Adventist congregation and the first educational institution, nowadays Universidad Adventista del Plata, were born.

Keywords : History of adventism; South-american mission; Lay missionaries; Institutional precedents.
