Abstract

VIVES, Juan Martín. No man´s land: las minorías religiosas y su compleja relación con el secularismo. Enfoques [online]. 2012, vol.24, n.2, pp.77-84. ISSN 1669-2721.

In the conflict between the anticlerical section and the religious majority, the religious minorities face a crossroad. Religious people appear to have a negative judgment, in general, about the process known as 'secularism'. The following essay sustains the thesis that only in the secular framework of the modern democratic societies may be room for religious diversity, essential to the existence of religious minorities. It also propounds the need to convert that diversity in religious pluralism with equal rights for minorities.

Keywords : Religious minorities; Secularism; Religious diversity; Pluralism.
