Abstract

TAYLOR, John Wesley. Posmodernidad y educación cristiana: Desafíos ideológicos contemporáneos. Enfoques [online]. 2012, vol.24, n.2, pp.85-100. ISSN 1669-2721.

Christian Education finds itself in a postmodern world, one that presents both opportunities and challenges. In this new setting, Christian educators must think deeply regarding their beliefs and convictions. This essay examines the crumbling foundations of modernism: human autonomy, rationalism, scientism, technicism, and economism, as well as emerging principles of postmodernism: the rejection of metanarratives, pluralism, the significance of context, constructivism, and the celebration of diversity. Based on this analysis, a number of implications for Christian education are presented.

Keywords : Postmodernism; Education; Christianity; Pluralism; Constructivism.
