Abstract

LOPEZ SALORT, Daniel O.. Epicurus: The Ways for Happiness. Enfoques [online]. 2021, vol.33, n.1, pp.87-105. ISSN 1669-2721.

In this paper, an analysis of the work of Epicurus is developed and it points out the mistakes that have generally been established about it. His concept of nature, gods and religion is considered. Special reference is made to the subject of virtue and phi losophy as the paths that lead to happiness, his definitions of pleasure and pain, and the differences in his approaches with respect to the schools of Plato and Aristotle. His philosophical research methods and the evaluations of his work through the cen turies are also analyzed.
