Abstract

CORREA, Gustavo Fabián; CARRIZO, Jorge  and  CORBALAN, David. Memory and political violence in recent argentina: from social organizations to armed organizations, la cocha, tucumán, 1970. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2009, vol.8, n.2. ISSN 1669-9041.

The aim of this paper is to contribute to the study of the recent past in Tucuman, in particular the City of La Cocha, in the period 1966-1976, where the massive participation of youth in intense political and social struggles of the time I derive in some cases the choice of armed struggle, then illegally suppressed by state terrorism. We aim to recover from the memory a different vision of the past both the official version ordered by the military dictatorships, as well as the "theory of the two demons" or any attempt to claim political violence victimizing those killed by state terrorism, forgetting his status as a political militant and beyond their tragic mistakes (some shared by the majority of Argentina society as contempt for democracy), embody ideals of personal commitment and social justice today after systematic terror imperceptible and the individualistic neoliberal deluge.

Keywords : Political violence; Memory; Prohibition; Military dictatorship; Armed organizations.
