Abstract

SOWTER, Leandro. The councils and the economic cooperation in the early years of Peronist Argentina, 1946-1948. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2015, vol.14, n.1, pp.00-00. ISSN 1669-9041.

This article analyzes the institutional linkage of employers and workers with the state during the golden years of first Peronism. Based on the reconstruction of the economic councils ot the period we describe the sociopolitical strategy of the peronist state economic intervention and its attempts to legitimize that intervention. Research shows that these councils played a pragmatic role for the government, who aimed to maintain a certain balance between employers and employees, wich crystallized in a wage-price relationship, though it was hampered by the lack of a representative business organization.

Keywords : Peronism; State intervention; Economic councils; Businessman.
