This work, result of a task of the investigation project: "El Pedrero: alive memorial of the Che" has as objective to carry out a contribution to the historical knowledge of the liberation of Fomento, starting from their main characters' experience, leaning on in images of the presence of the Che in this territory and other aspects of the local history that for their transcendency in the ulterior victory of January of 1959, deserve their knowledge. For their conception an analysis of primary sources of the historical knowledge was carried out, as well as individual interviews to participants in this revolutionary action. The article begins its analysis with the arrival from the Che to Cuba, its later appointment to drive the invading column toward the center of the island, until the direction of the forces that allowed the revolutionary victory in Fomento.
