Abstract

CERDA, María Celeste. The purposes of the teaching of Recent History: Between social mandates and personal biographies: an approach from the voices of teachers. Rev. Esc. Hist. [online]. 2018, vol.17, n.2, pp.00-00. ISSN 1669-9041.

The present article intends to analyze in the speeches of History teachers of secondary level about the purposes assigned to the transmission of the recent past in the school space. Much has been written about the "duty of memory" as a privileged way of accessing this historical experience in our country, constituted in a kind of mandate from the first teaching practices in the democratic transition to the present. This form of "management of the past" has strong implications both in the form and in the content of the transmitted experience, in the links that enable and / or obtura between past-present-future, that is, in the possibilities of "thinking" historically that past, converting "duty" into a "right to memory".

Keywords : Purposes; Recent History; Teacher s Thinking; Historical Thinking.
