Abstract

SANZ MERINO, Noemí. La apropiación política de la ciencia: origen y evolución de una nueva tecnocracia. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2008, vol.4, n.10, pp.85-123. ISSN 1850-0013.

In this paper we address the origin and changes in science policies of the countries considered the most significant on that matter (USA, the Soviet Union, Japan and the European Union). Using this description we attempt to define the terms in which the "social appropriation of science" has appeared and evolved for diverse social sectors, within the specific context of S&T promotion policies. Finally, we will raise the question if the linear model of innovation has really been given up in the right terms.

Keywords : Social contract for science; Renewed technocracy; Linear model of innovation; Science policies; Science as a public good.
