The new information and communication technologies are vital tools in the new contexts of the age of information and knowledge, for public institutions and the private sector as well. This analysis of documents and bibliography recovers and presents studies related to the business sector, and the information technologies in South America, with a special focus on the Plurinational State of Bolivia. In addition, it describes some visits to public institutions and education institutes in Bolivia by one of the authors, with the purpose of finding primary sources of information on current and future courses of action taken by small companies.
