Abstract

Layers Of Nature And Natures On Medical Training: Univocities And Multiplicities In The Relationship Between Medicine And Biology, Clinical Practice And Sex. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.35, pp.59-90. ISSN 1850-0013.

This paper approaches how the notion of nature operates in the training of doctors in the medical school of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). It intends to think of this process in two semiotic-material layers: the first one linked to an objective, fix, regular definition of Nature; the second, related to the idea of contingent and partial natures. This separation is proposed with an analytical purpose, but it is stated that both layers operate in a juxtaposed way. The layers of both, Nature and natures, are problematized from three dimensions: the biological, the clinical and the sexual. The corpus of this research consists of interviews to medical students, the syllabi of the subjects and administrative files including characteristics of the course which are relevant to the purpose of this research.

Keywords : Nature; Medical training; Sex; Clinic.
