Abstract

DE SARLO, Giulia. The Awakening of Ecological Awareness through Children's and Youth Literature: Didactics of Literature and Environmental Education. Rev. iberoam. cienc. tecnol. soc. [online]. 2017, vol.12, n.35, pp.217-228. ISSN 1850-0013.

Ecological laboratories and recycling workshops are an increasingly frequent presence in the curricular and out-of-school routines of our primary and secondary students. However, literature is still not used at its best as a tool to awaken the reflection on the environment and the daily impact of their actions on it in the new generations. This work aims at providing a basic bibliography to help teachers move in the editorial scene on environmental issues dedicated to children's and youth literature, with a special focus on water. It will be guided by the principles expressed by the sociologist Jeremy Rifkin in his book The Empathic Civilization (2010)

Keywords : Children and youth literature; Environmental education; Water; Spanish; English.
