Abstract

ZANDALAZINI, C. I; OLIVA, M. I  and  FERRERO, J. C. Pulsed laser deposition: development and implementation of the technique of growth of multilayers. An. AFA [online]. 2016, vol.27, n.1, pp.40-46. ISSN 0327-358X.

Pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique is one of the most powerful for the growth of thin multilayers, able to get the stoichiometric reproduction of complex oxides, metals, and polymers. In this paper the main characteristics of a PLD system, designed and developed for the production of high quality oxide multilayers at a significantly lower cost than current commercial systems will be presented. Furthermore, we present some results of ZnO layers, and bilayers BaFe12O19/BaTiO3 growth and studied by x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy and SQUID magnetometry.

Keywords : Pulsed laser deposition; Thin films; Magnetic oxides.
