We propose a betterment of an one-dimensional dynamics equipment, adding the damping coefficient with viscous friction. We use a mechanism that allows a continuous variation of the damping constant in order to obtain higher and lower values to the critical damping coefficient. From position-time measurements we determine the damping coefficient for different cases.
