Abstract

In this paper the dynamics of high energy charged particles in negative and positive triangularity tokamaks is studied through the simulation of a neutral beam inyection on analytical MHD equilibria using the exact orbit code FOCUS. It is observed that the negative triangularity configuration presents fewer losses of non-thermal particles, and an energy deposition more localized than its counterpart.
